to the level of the caster<br />

Description: The caster is able to Detect Thoughts<br />

of a target creature at the moment, unless<br />

they are protected by some sort of spell that<br />

prevents detection. The target creature must<br />

be touched successfully. If the target creature<br />

resists being touched, then the caster<br />

must make a Brawling skill check (see Chap.<br />

8: Skills).<br />

Different from Detect Surface<br />

Thoughts, Detect Thoughts allows the caster<br />

to probe the mind of the target creature<br />

while touching their head. The caster must<br />

decide what thought is to be detected. Here,<br />

thoughts may be opinions on topics or issues.<br />

It takes 1d6 rounds for the brain of<br />

the target creature to reply. The reply is not<br />

conscious. Instead, the caster is merely silencing<br />

everything else in the brain except<br />

for thoughts about that particular issue.<br />

Area: 50’ radius<br />

Duration: Instantaneous<br />

Description: Casting this spell allows the caster to<br />

be able to detect the scent of any and all<br />

unethical characters in the area unless they<br />

are protected by some sort of spell that prevents<br />

detection. The caster is unable to discern<br />

the exact characters unless they are<br />

within 10’ of the caster or are alone.<br />
