The act of divining from numbers. Numerologists
believe that the universe is mathematically
constructed, and that all things can be expressed in
numbers. Since all letters, words, names, birthdays,
and so forth may be converted numerically and expressed
in numbers, it is believed that a character’s
life, temperament, and destiny can be determined.
Numerologists use the numbers 1 - 9 and 0, converting
larger numbers into these by adding them
together. For instance, the number 14 would be the
number 5 to a numerologist (1 + 4 = 5). Certain
numbers are not reduced, however; these are 11 and
