Sample Map<br />

An excerpt of a map is presented to facilitate<br />

familiarity with mapping. The following sample<br />

map is, perhaps, the simplest map that may be used.<br />

The sample map illustrates a corridor that progresses<br />

north and turns east. 10 feet before the corridor<br />

turns east, a trap door exists in the floor. Farther<br />

south, a door exists along the west wall of the corridor.<br />

This door opens outward, into the corridor.<br />

Once the corridor turns east, another door may be<br />

encountered along the north wall. This door opens<br />

inward, into the room. 2 rooms exist. The northern<br />

room measures 20 feet by 20 feet. The room to<br />

the southwest measures 15 feet by 10 feet.<br />

Plot<br />

The most important part of any game session<br />

is the plot. Something must give the overall<br />

session coherence and purpose. Perhaps the characters<br />

have been captured and the plot is to escape.<br />
