Apparel, Boots<br />

Boots are protection for the foot and the<br />

lower leg. Most boots are constructed of leather.<br />

Both boots of the same magical item must be worn<br />

for an effect to be noticed, unless stated otherwise.<br />

01-15 Boots of Beorgan: These<br />

boots comfortably fit the wearer and seem<br />

to be normal in all respects. However, these<br />

boots grant the wearer 1d10 CA against<br />

melee attacks seen by the wearer due to improved<br />

footwork during combat.<br />

16-30 Boots of Endurance:<br />

These boots comfortably fit the wearer and<br />

seem to be normal in all respects. However,<br />

once the wearer begins to sprint, the wearer<br />

will notice that they will not become exhausted<br />

and may sprint as long as desired.<br />

31-45 Boots of Kicking: These<br />

boots comfortably fit the wearer and seem<br />

to be normal in all respects. However, when<br />

a character makes a successful kick (see<br />

Brawling in Chap. 8: Skills), the kick does<br />

double the normal damage before modifiers<br />

are applied.<br />

46-70 Boots of Velocity: These<br />

boots comfortably fit the wearer and seem<br />

to be normal in all respects. However, these<br />

boots allow the wearer to sprint at twice their<br />

natural sprint speed.<br />

71-85 Cursed Boots of Perpetual<br />

Sprinting: These boots comforably<br />

fit the wearer and seem to be normal and<br />

desirable in all respects. However, once the<br />

wearer begins to sprint, the boots will continue<br />

to force the legs of the wearer to sprint<br />

perpetually. The wearer must make appropriate<br />

checks (see the Sprint skill in Chap. 8:<br />

Skills) until they are exhausted and physically<br />

unable to continue sprinting. Eventually,<br />

the boots will be dragging the body of<br />

the wearer, who will be too weak to change<br />

the direction of the sprint. The boots will<br />

sprint in the same direction until they run<br />

into a solid object. A new direction will be<br />

determined randomly. Damage may occur<br />

to the wearer, as determined by the Aedile.<br />

86-100 Cursed Boots of Sprint<br />

Resistance: These boots comfortably fit the<br />

wearer and seem to be normal and desirable<br />

boots in all respects. However, whenever<br />

the wearer attempts to sprint, the boots seem<br />

to weigh 800 lbs. apiece, offering resistance<br />

to movement.<br />
