House Bill 99 – Delegates Hixson, Hucker, and Mizeur
AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt – Montgomery County – Birchmere Music Hall
FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt not to exceed $2,000,000, the
proceeds to be used as a grant to the County Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County for certain development or improvement purposes; providing
for disbursement of the loan proceeds, subject to a requirement that the grantee
provide and expend a matching fund; establishing a deadline for the encumbrance
or expenditure of the loan proceeds; and providing generally for the issuance and
sale of bonds evidencing the loan.

Montgomery, Morhaim, Oaks, Pena–Melnyk, Pendergrass, and Taylor
AN ACT concerning
Health Occupations – Cultural Competency Workgroup
FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to convene a
certain workgroup; requiring each health occupations board within the Department
to develop certain recommendations for requiring individuals licensed by the
health occupations boards of the Department to receive instruction in cultural
competency; requiring the workgroup to make recommendations and to review
certain curriculum modules; providing for the staffing of the workgroup; requiring
the workgroup to make a certain report to certain committees of the General
Assembly on or before a certain date; providing for the termination of this Act;
and generally relating to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and a
workgroup on cultural competency.
