Medicare Part D “Donut Hole” Tax Assistance Act<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> providing for a subtraction modification under the <strong>Maryland</strong><br />

individual income tax for certain qualified prescription drug expenses; providing<br />

for a certain limit on the amount <strong>of</strong> the subtraction modification if an individual<br />

itemizes deductions; defining certain terms; providing for the application <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Act; and generally relating to a <strong>Maryland</strong> income tax subtraction modification for<br />

certain qualified prescription drug expenses.<br />

House Bill 1074 – Delegates Eckardt, Dwyer, Haddaway, McComas, Shank, and Smigiel<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

Repeal <strong>of</strong> Certificate <strong>of</strong> Need Requirements – Health Care Facilities Other Than<br />

Home Health Agencies and Hospices<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> altering requirements that certain health facilities obtain a certificate<br />

<strong>of</strong> need in order to build a new facility or expand a facility; repealing certain<br />

provisions relating to certificates <strong>of</strong> need for certain facilities; altering certain<br />

definitions; repealing certain definitions; requiring the <strong>Maryland</strong> Health Care<br />

Commission to develop a certain comprehensive plan for emergency medical<br />

services; requiring the Commission to issue a certain report to the <strong>General</strong><br />

<strong>Assembly</strong> on or before a certain date; and generally relating to certificates <strong>of</strong> need<br />

for health facilities and health care planning.<br />
