Nonpr<strong>of</strong>it Health Service Plans – Boards <strong>of</strong> Directors – Term Limits and<br />

Compensation<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> altering the number <strong>of</strong> terms and the total number <strong>of</strong> years that may<br />

be served by a member <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong> directors <strong>of</strong> a nonpr<strong>of</strong>it health service plan;<br />

altering the amount and type <strong>of</strong> compensation that may be received by a board<br />

member; requiring the <strong>Maryland</strong> Insurance Commissioner to make a certain<br />

review in a certain manner about the amount <strong>of</strong> compensation to be paid to board<br />

members; requiring the Commissioner to submit a certain report to certain<br />

committees <strong>of</strong> the <strong>General</strong> <strong>Assembly</strong> on or before a certain date each year; altering<br />

the requirement that a certain corporation report certain information to the<br />

Commissioner; and generally relating to the boards <strong>of</strong> directors <strong>of</strong> nonpr<strong>of</strong>it health<br />

service plans.<br />

House Bill 488 – Delegates Morhaim, Bobo, and Montgomery<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

Environment – Statewide Electronics Recycling Program<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> altering a certain recycling program to include certain additional<br />

electronic devices; authorizing a county to address methods for the separate<br />

collection and recycling <strong>of</strong> certain electronic devices in a certain recycling plan;<br />

requiring that certain unspent or unencumbered funds, in excess <strong>of</strong> a certain<br />

amount, revert to the <strong>General</strong> Fund <strong>of</strong> the State; requiring certain fines and<br />

penalties be deposited into the State Recycling Trust Fund; requiring<br />

manufacturers <strong>of</strong> certain electronic devices to submit to the Department <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Environment a certain registration and fee; altering a certain manufacturer<br />

registration fee; requiring the Department to maintain a certain list <strong>of</strong> certain<br />

registered electronic device manufacturers; requiring the Department to provide<br />

the list to the Comptroller in a certain manner; prohibiting a certain retailer from<br />

selling certain electronic devices under certain circumstances; authorizing the<br />

Comptroller to assess a certain fine against certain retailers for certain violations;<br />

requiring the fine to be deposited into the State Recycling Trust Fund in a certain<br />

manner; repealing the termination date <strong>of</strong> certain provisions <strong>of</strong> a certain Act;<br />

defining certain terms; and generally relating to the Statewide Electronics
