FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> authorizing a county governing body to enact laws to govern<br />

campaign finance activity for county elective <strong>of</strong>ficers and candidates for election<br />

to those <strong>of</strong>fices; specifying certain parameters and limitations applicable to any<br />

laws enacted by a county to regulate campaign finance activity; and generally<br />

relating to the regulation <strong>of</strong> campaign finance activity <strong>of</strong> county elective <strong>of</strong>ficers<br />

and candidates for election to those <strong>of</strong>fices.<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT<br />

<strong>Maryland</strong>’s Marriage Protection Act<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> adding a new section to the <strong>Maryland</strong> Constitution to establish that<br />

only a marriage between a man and a woman is valid in this State; establishing<br />

that certain unions or relationships between individuals <strong>of</strong> the same sex are not<br />

valid in this State and are against the public policy <strong>of</strong> this State; and submitting<br />

this amendment to the qualified voters <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Maryland</strong> for their adoption<br />

or rejection.<br />
