AN ACT concerning<br />

Income Tax – Earned Income Credit – Refundable Amount<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> altering the percentage <strong>of</strong> the federal earned income credit used for<br />

determining the amount that certain individuals may claim as a refundable credit<br />

under the <strong>Maryland</strong> earned income credit under certain circumstances; altering the<br />

calculation <strong>of</strong> a refundable county earned income credit if a county provides a<br />

refundable county earned income credit; repealing certain obsolete provisions <strong>of</strong><br />

law; providing for the application <strong>of</strong> this Act; and generally relating to the earned<br />

income credit allowed under the State income tax.<br />

House Bill 224 – Delegates Gutierrez, Barkley, Lawton, and Waldstreicher<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

Creation <strong>of</strong> a State Debt – Montgomery County – Circle Manor<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> authorizing the creation <strong>of</strong> a State Debt not to exceed $150,000, the<br />

proceeds to be used as a grant to the Mayor and Town Council <strong>of</strong> the Town <strong>of</strong><br />

Kensington for certain development or improvement purposes; providing for<br />

disbursement <strong>of</strong> the loan proceeds, subject to a requirement that the grantee<br />

provide and expend a matching fund; establishing a deadline for the encumbrance<br />

or expenditure <strong>of</strong> the loan proceeds; requiring the grantee to grant and convey a<br />

certain easement to the <strong>Maryland</strong> Historical Trust; and providing generally for the<br />

issuance and sale <strong>of</strong> bonds evidencing the loan.<br />
