AN ACT concerning<br />

Removal <strong>of</strong> Religious Barriers to Remarriage<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> requiring a party who files or does not contest a complaint or<br />

countercomplaint for an absolute divorce or annulment to file, under certain<br />

circumstances, an affidavit stating that the affiant has taken all steps solely within<br />

the affiant’s control to remove all religious barriers to remarriage by the other<br />

party to the marriage; prohibiting a court, under certain circumstances, from<br />

entering a decree for an absolute divorce or annulment until a certain affidavit is<br />

filed or if the court determines that the affidavit was filed with the knowledge <strong>of</strong><br />

the affiant that it was false; providing for the construction and application <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Act; and generally relating to absolute divorce and annulment and the removal <strong>of</strong><br />

religious barriers to remarriage.<br />

House Bill 325 – Delegates Hubbard, Costa, Gaines, Kullen, and Taylor<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

State Residential Centers – Money Follows the Individual Act<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> prohibiting the Department <strong>of</strong> Health and Mental Hygiene from<br />

denying an individual home– and community–based waiver services when the<br />

individual resides in a State residential center and certain criteria are met;<br />

providing that nothing in this Act is intended to result in a certain reduction <strong>of</strong><br />

federal funds; requiring the Department to notify certain residents <strong>of</strong> State<br />

residential centers about certain opportunities to participate in a certain waiver;<br />

requiring the Department to submit a certain annual report; defining a certain term;<br />

and generally relating to individuals living in State residential centers and access<br />

to home– and community–based waivers.
