AN ACT concerning<br />

Education – Compulsory Attendance – Age <strong>of</strong> Withdrawal<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> altering the age at which a child may withdraw from required<br />

schooling; requiring certain individuals with the legal custody or care and control<br />

<strong>of</strong> certain children between certain ages to see that the children attend school or<br />

receive certain instruction; providing for a delayed effective date; and generally<br />

relating to the age <strong>of</strong> withdrawal and compulsory attendance in school.<br />

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,<br />

House Bill 547 – Delegate Love<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

Motor Vehicle Insurance – Accident Prevention Courses – Discount for Seniors<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> requiring an insurer to provide a reduction in rates for motor vehicle<br />

personal injury and property damage coverage to an insured who is at least 55<br />

years old and who, within a certain period <strong>of</strong> time, has completed a certain course<br />

in accident prevention; providing that this Act does not apply to an insured who<br />

attends a course in accident prevention under a court order or as required by the<br />

Motor Vehicle Administration for a certain violation; authorizing a certain part <strong>of</strong><br />

the required course in accident prevention to be an on–line course; requiring the<br />

<strong>Maryland</strong> Insurance Commissioner to adopt certain regulations; and generally<br />

relating to reductions in motor vehicle insurance rates.<br />
