AN ACT concerning
Public Safety – Statewide DNA Data Base System – Sexual Offenses and
Kidnapping – Sample Collection on Arrest
FOR the purpose of altering certain provisions to require the collection of a DNA sample
from an individual under arrest for certain sexual offenses or kidnappings instead
of from an individual convicted of a felony or certain burglary offenses; altering a
certain definition; defining a certain term; requiring a DNA sample to be collected
at the facility where a certain arrest is processed; requiring an individual who was
arrested before a certain date and convicted on or after a certain date to submit a
DNA sample; repealing a certain provision that permits the expungement of a
DNA sample; and generally relating to the collection of DNA samples.

Maryland Children’s Health Program – Expansion of Eligibility
FOR the purpose of altering the income eligibility requirements for the Maryland
Children’s Health Program; authorizing the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene to determine the amount of a certain family contribution; repealing
provisions of law that require the Department to set certain family contributions at
certain amounts; requiring the Department to provide a certain report to certain
committees of the General Assembly on or before a certain date; altering a certain
definition; making certain technical changes; and generally relating to the
Maryland Children’s Health Program.
