State Employees – Whistleblower Protection<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> prohibiting an agent <strong>of</strong> a supervisor, appointing authority, or head <strong>of</strong><br />

a principal unit from taking, threatening to take, or refusing to take certain<br />

personnel actions against an employee who takes certain actions; providing that a<br />

violation <strong>of</strong> certain provisions is a misdemeanor; establishing a certain penalty;<br />

prohibiting certain actions from being taken against a certain employee;<br />

authorizing an employee to provide a copy <strong>of</strong> certain complaints or grievances to<br />

any person after a certain time; requiring the Attorney <strong>General</strong> to adopt certain<br />

regulations; requiring the Secretary <strong>of</strong> Budget and Management to provide copies<br />

<strong>of</strong> certain regulations to certain employees at certain intervals; and generally<br />

relating to State employees and protection for whistleblowers.<br />

Stein, Taylor, and Wood<br />

AN ACT concerning<br />

<strong>Maryland</strong> Automobile Insurance Fund – Acceptance <strong>of</strong> Premiums on Installment<br />

Basis<br />

FOR the purpose <strong>of</strong> authorizing the <strong>Maryland</strong> Automobile Insurance Fund to accept<br />

premiums on an installment basis; authorizing the Fund to <strong>of</strong>fer to accept<br />

premiums on an installment basis on certain policies in a certain manner on or<br />

after a certain date; authorizing the Fund to request approval <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Maryland</strong><br />

Insurance Commissioner to <strong>of</strong>fer to accept premiums on an installment basis on<br />

any policy issued in the State in a certain manner on or after a certain date;<br />

requiring the Commissioner to determine whether to approve the request in a<br />

certain manner within a certain period <strong>of</strong> time; providing that a request is deemed<br />

approved within a certain period <strong>of</strong> time under certain circumstances; requiring the<br />

Commissioner to phase in the number <strong>of</strong> policies that may be paid on an<br />

installment basis in a certain manner; and generally relating to accepting<br />

premiums on an installment basis on policies issued by the <strong>Maryland</strong> Automobile<br />

Insurance Fund.
