In the churchyard
29 When entering the churchyard kindly remember the dead,
think back that while they lived they were like thee
Like them shalt thou die and thou knowest not when
Ask Cod to grant them His forgiveness.
At the baptismal font
33 When going to church, look upon the baptistery,
recall that it is there where thou didst receive thy faith,
the grace of Cod, and the road to salvation;
may thy first show of gratitude be for Him.
The Holy Sacrament
37 Then gaze upon where the Holy Sacrament lies,
and ponder how He is thy saviour.
Worship Him with devotion and ask Him for the grace
of receiving Him worthily until the end of thy days.
The cross
41 Caze upon the crucifix and recall then
how His holy blood was redeemed.
He took death upon Himself to give thee life.
Ponder upon how thou mightst pay Him in return.
Mother Mary
45 Look up to where the good Lady is found.
Not even the whole world could help thee like her.
She is the one closest to Cod in glory,
and has at hand every grace she could want.
49 Oh, glorious Lady and sweet Mother!
In Thee lies every hope of the sinner.
I too, a great sinner, turn to Thee,
for Thy help in the salvation of my sou1.
The saints
53 Show, as well, respect for the saints,
especially the one of thy devotion.
Remember whose feast day it is that day
and to whom the church is dedicated.
Ask them fervently to help thee.
