74 This world has many deceived.
They serve it believing they will live forever,
but they are forsaken when least expected;
it would be madness to hazard it,
78 1 myself have many a time behaved foolishly;
Suffering through hot and cold days and nights,
losing sleep, plenty of sorrow, but not for my soul!
Now 1 should like to think it was all for God.
82 There are many like me in this world,
all their lives caught up in vainglory.
Let us take stock while there is time.
The good Lady may take us under Her wing,
so gracious is She over all other mothers;
whoever should go to Her will not fail to receive Her grace.
88 No one is without blame, a certain truth is this.
God condemns the world on account of its sin.
But in Thee, noble Lady, there is no taint of sin.
Be our intercessory that we may have His forgiveness.
92 God made Thee for the salvation of sinners.
He has made himself the judge of all justice
for Thee to be a refuge for merey.
As He may not save them through justice,
they shall be helped through Thy merey,
so long as they come unto Thee with a sincere heart.
98 There has never been, nor ever will be.
such a great and unclean sinner
that if along the road taken he turns to Thee,
that he is not forgiven on account of Thy love
No one under Thy wing has ever been damned nor ever will be.
Unto thee do we entrust ourselves in death and life.
104 The other women are mothers of small children,
and thereafter are they unable to be maidens.
Thou, my Lady, being virgin, art the Mother of God,
and thenceforth the Queen of heaven and earth.
108 Thou art Lady of all things of which God is Lord
The world is right to render thee honour,
for Jesus Christ himself did as much unto Thee.
The world cannot have as much dignity as Thou.
