235 He gives the order that from every world,
all should go and gather before Him in Joshaphat;
that no one anywhere may escape;
aH in Heaven and on Earth are trembling.
239 He commands Death to bring before Him
all of the dead brought back to life without fail.
Henceforth shall it have no sway;
everyone shall be kept in two places:
If not in glory then in perdition; there is no deliverance.
244 He orders hell solemnly and sternly
to send forthwith those dwelling within.
He wishes to see them in body and in soul,
and He will mete out their just reward.
248 Good people, think well of this judge
about how he wields great power throughout,
over death, hell, heaven and earth.
Why, then, does the sinner go against Him?
252 This is the great blindness I see in ourselves
in which we work to please our enemy so,
and ignore God, our Saviour,
even in our recognition of this injustice.
256 He will pass a stern sentence on both [body and soul] ,
so that both will suffer in the flames of hell,
in that eternal, ever burning fire.
AII of ye think, I pray, wherein lies your gain?
260 Hitherto has there never been nor ever will there be
such a solemn and strict judgement.
Those born and who are yet to be born, resurrected after death,
all are to be there, none excused.
264 Many a thing is required in a great judgement:
The judge must have jurisdiction over all parties,
the prosecutor is to state his case truthfully;
likewise the defendant with his defence.
When it be proven who is right,
the judge is to pass sentence, each one receiving his due.
270 On that day shall the judge be the master of the world
as He has great power over all;
He shall be the accuser as well as the conscience;
then shall all sins be made known
