1 'Tis always hard to suffer, my love.
Must I always suffer for thee?
3 I have had a love who is wonderfully charming.
When with her, I lacked nothing.
I could never have any love but her hereafter.
In missing her I am living, unable to die.
7 Someone has tumed my love against me.
I know not why but her behaviour's strange.
It has been a while since she would speak to me as she used too
I must ask her what has caused her to act like a haughty lady.

Henceforth, from that moment, we shall be friends or enemies.
If she does me wrong, I must take to drink.
I myself am quite capable of that.
