134 Remember the immense majesty of God.
The earth, the sky, and the sea are in His hands
as are salvation, damnation, life and death.
His power extends overall.
No one may flee from Him when He commands.
139 In this world, yea, we may fool each other
but in the other world everyone will walk in truth.
There will it be out what each has done.
AH will be revealed: acts, utterances, thoughts.
143 Remember the grand justice of God,
how we are all to face the reckoning,
and receive our just reward for our acts;
when Death, His messenger, comes.
147 Then shall it be in vain to appeal to Him,
no one shall be granted the space of an hour,
nor shall there be a distinction made between rich and poor.
There each shall bear his burden.
151 What is to become of me, a poor sinner?
Mediators shall be wanting, with the great judge as my adversary.
No one shall be able to act as a lawyer at the judgement.
There shall all transgressions be made public.
155 Alas, I pray, let us all do penitence!
For we may not be able to in the hour of need;
many people fool themselves by forestalling,
yet no one is assured even a single day of life.
159 Every day we are faced with Death;
all out affairs must be in order,
take care of them while in good health.
Let us not deal with them when the end comes,
for we shall have enough upon our hands with our souls!
164 Let us be aware that we are at a crossroads
leading more towards damnation than salvation.
May no one trust, I pray, his vanity;
for no saint ever entered heaven through vanity.
168 Alas, may every sinner take heed of this, I pray!
God condemns the world for its sin.
Wherefore, then, comes so much sinful living
when it is we ourselves who are to blame for our perdition?
