97 On Sundays thou shouldst carefully ponder
how many times thou hast sinned that week.
Ponder and then ask God for His forgiveness;
cleanse thy soul every week as thou wouldst a shirt.
101 Our fate hangs upon two matters:
If thou hast done good works, paradise is assured.
He who dies in sin, is then damned.
There's no other way, look to the one that's best.
105 I know not where there is a shepherd so derelict
that he fails to chase a wolf away from his flock.
We are entrusted by God to the care of our souls.
Just look at the stewardship of each one of uso
We are sure to be held strictly accountable
to the one who redeemed it with His blood at such a high price.
He who believes this not is deceived.
112 We must contemplate the Sacred Passion
and feel the great sorrow in his heart;
how He was upon the cross, riddled with wounds,
with His hands and feet nailed fast and His body naked.
116 Put to death with thieves like a criminal,
crowned in thorns, the Lord of the world,
His precious, delicate body
vilely mocked and shattered.
120 Alas, how must his anguished Mother have felt,
his beloved mother and the mainstay of the whole world,
when she saw her beloved Son in such agony,
dying before her eyes, the life of all the world!
124 My heart truly bleeds for Thee, o sweet Mother.
That sorrow and those wounds in Thy heart on that day,
to see Thy beloved master in such a way with Thine eyes
while His precious blood flowed out;
I know very well that it was for me.
129 Remember that thou hast committed many a sin,
for which thou hast often deserved damnation.
Thou hast been spared on account of His compassion,
and if thou hast repented, He has at once forgiven thee.
And still dost thou return to thy sinning ways!
