425 and attain from God the strength and grace
to do proper penitence for my sins,
to live henceforth a righteous life,
and to do His wiIl in all things.
429 Protect my poor body, 1 pray, from aIl misfortune.
Grant me the grace not to die in sin,
and not to be damned for eternity,
but rather led by Thee down the road to salvation,
433 and then, when my death comes,
the dreadful hour when the soul departs,
the hour in which 1 shall be held strictly accountable,
and receive the just reward for my deeds.
437 And not knowing at which inn 1 shaIl stay the first night,
And not having anyone, if not Thou, to protect me;
help me then, 1 pray, sweet Mother,
faithful intercessory and abettor of mine.
441 Take, 1 pray, my sorrowful soul under Thy wing
so that at that hour it will not head for damnation.
Reconcile me with the Lord Thy Son,
so that my sins are forgiven and paradise given.
445 May 1 see Thy countenance,
and praise be to His Majesty in the communion of saints.
For Thou dost remember me weIl, sweet Mother,
1 shall cheerfuIly say unto thee: Hail Mary.
Whoever says this prayer, my lady St. Mary,
consider him, 1 pray, as having entrusted himself in life and death.
