36 Except for God no one else wields such power as She:
Heaven, the earth, the sea, are all at Her feet.
She extends Her power when needed
Great though She is, She appreciates the humble;
in leaving such a love, where might we find another?
41 Other loves are faithful only unto themselves;
no one wishes to share what is his with others.
The glorious Mother Virgin is so perfect
that she satisfies all while remaining true.
45 If lovers have satisfied their desire,
another greater one takes a hold thereafter.
They may never attain full satisfaction,
spending their whole lives in want.
Men and women alike, take Mary as your love
and She alone will satisfy us all fully.
51 The Good Lady alone among beauties who has had the grace
that none can desire her unwholesomely;
but with a single glance such unclean desires go away.
In looking at Her image you might know this is true.
55 AH the water in the sea, the stars in the sky
Shadows in the forest, the grass upon the earth,
The sun in the sky, darkness in the darkest night;
all would fail us before She would
if we would truly turn to Her.
60 Why, then, are we sinners so foolish?
Let us all turn, I pray, to this faithful Lady.
Alas, away with all false loves!
With Her are we sure to have all we need.
64 Alas, poor lover, how deceived thou art!
AlI life long hast thou been living in foolishness.
If my gracious Lady helps thee not,
thou art forever doomed in life and death.
68 Do all the good thou canst whilst there is time,
when death comes only by miracle wilt thou have another hour.
Even then if thou still wilt do good;
Entrust thyself fully unto Her. I am telling thee the truth:
not even in the end does She allow damnation for Her own;
for even then She has the fullness of grace in Her hands.
