West Campus
The West Campus enrolls more than 12,500 students each
semester. The campus has 153 faculty members, more
than 400 adjunct faculty, 82 staff and six administrators.
The campus is organized around four instructional divisions
that offer a wide variety of associate degrees and certificate
programs.
The West Campus is known for its full range of nursing and
health-related profession programs that include dental
studies, radiologic technology, respiratory care, and medical
lab technician. The nursing and respiratory care
programs have state-of-the art classrooms and simulation
labs. other comprehensive programs include technology,
engineering and the natural and physical sciences. The
West Campus Technology program offers solar technology
classes in collaboration with the Building and Construction
Technology Program at Downtown Campus.
The West Campus also provides outstanding programs in
journalism and the visual and performing arts. The campus
is known for its state-of-the-art, digital arts program which
offers cutting edge curriculum in computer animation,
game design, digital design, illustration, film video, multimedia,
photography and desk top publishing. Digital arts
program students have won numerous national Addy
Awards through the American Advertising Federation
national student advertising competition. In addition, the
campus offers programs in business, computers, archaeology,
sign language, interpreter training, social and
behavioral sciences, as well as fitness and sport sciences.
West Campus is home for an Archaeology Center, Center
for the Arts, and two art galleries, the louis Carlos Bernal
gallery and the Student gallery. The campus also provides
a home to the College's International Student Services,
Aztec Press newspaper, and the NJCAA athletic teams. The
campus also hosts the nationally known Creative Writing
Weekend Workshops, offered in spring and fall.
The West Campus provides students with the largest
Academic Computing Commons. This 7,295 square foot

facility provides open labs, a training area and two classrooms
as well as providing discipline specific software
applications for a variety of academic areas. West Campus
students have multiple opportunities to participate in cocurricular
activities with approximately 20 student clubs,
student government and intercollegiate athletics.
Designed to blend with the surrounding desert, the campus
features inner courtyards and several hiking trails on
267 acres.
