WRT 140 Writing and Editing Technical Communications<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Introduction to basic concepts and techniques for writing and editing technical documents. Includes sentence structure<br />

and style; common grammar, usage, and punctuation rules; paragraph structure; common style-level problems; advanced<br />

writing-style concepts; editing in document development, publication, and use; editing technical reports; and writing a<br />

technical document.<br />

Prerequisite(s): WRT 101 or 107 with a grade of C or better.<br />

WRT 154 Career Communications<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Job related writing skills. Includes writing for audiences and situations, completing job related forms, writing resumes, and<br />

using standard written English. May include other written communications as appropriate to occupational areas.<br />

Prerequisite(s): WRT 100 or 106, or 101 or 107 with a C or better or required score on Writing assessment test.<br />

Information: WRT 154A, 154B, and 154C together constitute WRT 154.<br />
