ECN 200 Basic Economic Principles<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Examination of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory with with economic decision making, economic systems,<br />

production possibilities model, and market analysis. Includes micro topics, such as consumer demand, producer supply,<br />

and overall price determination. Also includes macro topics, such as goals and problems of the macroeconomy, fiscal<br />

policy, budgets, the Federal Reserve, and monetary policy.<br />

Prerequisite(s): MAT 092.<br />

Information: Not open to students who have taken or are taking ECN 201 and/or ECN 202.<br />

ECN 201 Microeconomic Principles SUN# ECN 2202<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Economic theory as applied to individual decision-making units. Includes economic decision making, economic systems,<br />

production possibilities model, and market analysis. Also includes details of consumer demand with elasticity and utility<br />

maximization, producer supply with market structures and profit maximization, and overall price determination.<br />

Prerequisite(s): MAT 092.<br />

ECN 202 Macroeconomic Principles SUN# ECN 2201<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Economic theory as applied to the operation of the economy as a whole. Includes economic decision making, economic<br />

systems, production possibilities model, and market analysis. Also includes goals and problems of the macroeconomy,<br />

foundations of the macroeconomy, fiscal policy, budgets, money, the role of financial institutions and the Federal Reserve,<br />

money creation, monetary theory and policy.<br />

servicing ADD/ADHD, strategies for the classroom, and overview of resources and organizations.<br />

EDU 106 Structured English Immersion Introduction<br />

Introduction to Structured English Immersion (SEI) methods and evaluation for pre-service or in-service teachers and<br />

administrators. Includes an overview of English Language Learning (ELL) and Sheltered Instruction. Also includes<br />

curriculum adaptation, student assessment, development of SEI lesson plans, and legal, historical, and educational<br />

reasons for Structured English Immersion.<br />

EDU 111 Comprehension Strategies for Struggling Adolescent Readers<br />

and comprehension development. Also includes profile and key issues faced by struggling readers, cuing systems used by<br />

competent readers, key reading strategies, and development of literacy comprehension.<br />
