FRE 106 Beginning Conversation<br />

Introduction to conversational French. Includes basic oral and written forms, simple grammatical structures for oral and<br />

written communication, simple interpersonal communicative interaction, various interpersonal transactions, and cultural<br />

perspectives. Also includes reading, writing, speaking, and listening with emphasis on communication.<br />

Continuation of FRE 102. Includes an intensive review of pronunciation, communication, and advanced grammar. Also<br />

Textual analysis of game play. Includes history of games, defining play, use of rules, impact of games on culture,<br />

psychological impact of games, and working in the game industry.<br />

GAM 102 Game <strong>Design</strong> II<br />

4 cr. hrs. 5 periods (3 lec., 2 lab)<br />

Continuation of GAM 101. Includes the role of the game designer, structure of the game, formal and dramatic elements of<br />

the game, game play fun, and storyboard development.<br />

Prerequisite(s): GAM 101.<br />

GAM 120 Introduction to Game Programming<br />

4 cr. hrs. 4 periods (4 lec.)<br />

Introduction to game engine programming. Includes Torque Game Builder 2D game engine, TorqueScript language<br />

features, input interaction, object-oriented TorqueScript features, image maps, and particle engine. Also includes an<br />

introduction to Artificial Intelligence techniques in game design.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 252, GAM 101, and MAT 145 or higher.<br />
