personnel management.<br />

MGT 280 Business Organization and Management<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Overview of the functions performed and issues faced by managers in business. Includes managers and management, the<br />

managerial environment, planning and decision support systems, project management, managerial control, and<br />

leadership. Also includes motivation and performance, control, and creating and sustaining high performance teams.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of BUS 100 and any other MGT course before enrolling in this course.<br />

MGT 284 Health Care Management<br />

An overview of health care management to prepare supervisors and middle managers. Includes health care regulations,<br />

finance and related business issues, communication among the health care team members, supervision of staff, and<br />

planning and evaluating patient care management systems.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of HCA 154 before enrolling in this course for students with no experience in the Health<br />

Care field.<br />

Includes conventional behaviors of the workplace, professional communication in the customer service setting, grooming<br />

and clothing for a business setting, telephone and email service, effective answers to sales questions, punctuality and the<br />

work ethic, professionalism in the workplace, basic qualitative activities, behavior with co-workers, customer service<br />

challenges, exceptional customer service, and career advancement strategies in customer service.<br />
