CAD 247 Transportation <strong>Design</strong>: MicroStation<br />

4 cr. hrs. 6 periods (3 lec., 3 lab)<br />

Continuation of CAD 127. Includes advanced civil drafting technology incorporating surveying and mapping data using<br />

MicroStation. Also includes the creation of digital terrain model, horizontal alignment, profiles, vertical alignment, model<br />

roadway, creation of cross sections, earthwork quantities, annotation, reports and use viewing tools to review final<br />

roadway project.<br />

CAD 252 Introduction to Parametric Modeling: Pro/ENGINEER<br />

4 cr. hrs. 6 periods (3 lec., 3 lab)<br />

Introduction to parametric modeling with Pro/ENGINEER. Includes geometric dimensioning and tolerancing fundamentals<br />

and standards, parametric modeling techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing applications, and hard copy<br />

techniques and procedures.<br />

Prerequisite(s): CAD 151 and 172.<br />

Information: Solid modeling experience strongly recommended before enrolling in this course.<br />

CAD 254 Integrated Circuit Layout <strong>Design</strong> III<br />

4 cr. hrs. 6 periods (3 lec., 3 lab)<br />

Continuation of CAD 204. Includes advanced design process, advanced circuit floorplanning, advanced analog layout<br />

design, advanced digital layout design, advanced ESD (electro-static discharge) design and pad ring layout, advanced<br />

device matching, advanced DRC (design rule check) verification techniques, and advanced LVS (layout versus schematic)<br />

verification techniques.<br />

Continuation of CAD 206 at the advanced level using Revit MEP. Includes advanced level CADD skills, advanced level<br />

commercial project programming, advanced level site, foundation, floor, roof framing, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical<br />

plans, building and wall sections, building elevations, working drawing coordination, special construction applications,<br />

model energy code, and 3D modeling.<br />

Continuation of CAD 207 at the advanced level using Civil 3D. Includes advanced civil drafting technology, advanced<br />

surveying, advanced location and direction, advanced mapping, advanced legal descriptions and plot plans, advanced<br />

contour lines, advanced profiles, advanced road layout, advanced earthwork, and advanced Geographic Information<br />

Systems (GIS).<br />

Computer Aided <strong>Design</strong> and Drafting (CADD) applications specific to site and building sustainability. Includes green building<br />

fundamentals, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), introduction to 3D modeling for analysis, and detailing systems.<br />

structural systems, and production of construction documents.<br />
