Introduction to conducting business on the Internet. Includes electronic commerce terminology, locating information,<br />

business applications, legal issues and security, and web site components and connectivity. Also includes marketing on the<br />

Internet, career opportunities, future developments, and building and operating a successful e-commerce store.<br />

BUS 148 Ethics in the Workplace<br />

Ethical principles in decision making applied to the business and industry workplace. Includes ethical issues in decision<br />

making, ethical frameworks for decisions, personal values and ethical priorities, ethics in business and industry, ethical<br />

standards in the workplace, ethical choices, application of ethical principles, social and cultural values applied to decisions,<br />

and workplace culture.<br />

BUS 151 Mathematics of Business<br />

Applying mathematical procedures, using algebraic techniques, critical thinking, and problem-solving methods for practical<br />

utility in the business environment. Includes math review; bank records; payroll; trade and cash discounts; markup and<br />

markdown; simple and compound interest; present and future value; annuities and sinking funds; consumer credit;<br />

depreciation; inventory, overhead, and turnover; financial statements; insurance; taxes; and stocks and bonds.<br />

Prerequisite(s): MAT 086 or required score on the Mathematics assessment test.<br />

BUS 205 Statistical Methods in Economics and Business<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Introduction to statistical concepts and methods of business. Includes statistics, data, and statistical thinking; methods for<br />

describing sets of data, probability, sampling distributions, inferences based on single sample and two samples; estimation<br />

with confidence intervals and tests of hypothesis, correlation and regression, times series, design of experiments and<br />

analysis of variance (ANOVA), and categorical data analysis.<br />

Prerequisite(s): MAT 172 or 173.<br />

Recommendation: CSA 110A.<br />

Information: Basic Excel knowledge is required before enrolling in this course. CSA 110A meets this requirement.<br />

Introduction to international business, focusing on the importance of cultural, economic, legal, political, sociological, and<br />

Overview of the impact of law, ethics and corporate responsibility in business. Includes basic concepts of law, structure,<br />

characteristics, the administration thereof, and continues through the many facets of business and the law including<br />

without limitation, formation, operation, ethics, corporate responsibility, agency, contracts, and government regulation.<br />

BUS 250 Entrepreneurship<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Introduction to implementing creative ideas for organizations. Includes types of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial mind,<br />

Timmons model of the entrepreneurial process, resource requirements, financing entrepreneurial ventures, and the<br />

business plan.<br />
