<strong>Design</strong> concepts for interior design color and lighting. Includes vision, perception, color and lighting theories, color schemes,<br />

design concepts, techniques and applications, psychological implications, and designing an interior for color and lighting.<br />

Prerequisite(s): IDE 122 or concurrent enrollment.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of IDE 111 before enrolling in this course.<br />

Theory and methods of information gathering for design projects. Includes programming and planning, research and<br />

IDE 158 Computer Aided Drafting Fundamentals for Interior <strong>Design</strong><br />

Two-dimensional computer-aided drafting concepts and techniques for Interior <strong>Design</strong>. Includes drafting methods and<br />

procedures, file management, hard copy production, industry standards, use of scale, blocks and symbol libraries, and<br />

portfolio development.<br />

IDE 160 Fabrics for Interiors<br />

Analysis, evaluation, and application of fabrics. Includes history of fabrics, fiber content, fabric construction, fabric finishes<br />

and techniques, and fabric trends.<br />

Prerequisite(s): IDE 111.<br />

Survey of historical architecture, interior treatments, furnishings, and decorative arts. Includes cultural aspects and<br />

characteristics of early Twentieth Century, Modernism, Revolution and the Avant-Garde, Contemporary designs, and issues<br />

and trends.<br />

IDE 220 Interior Methods and Materials<br />

Elements and applications of interior products. Includes specifications for finishes and materials, estimating techniques for<br />

interiors, product materials for interiors, environmental concerns, and design solutions.<br />

Prerequisite(s): IDE 100.<br />

IDE 222 Visual Communications II<br />

3 cr. hrs. 4 periods (2 lec., 2 lab)<br />

Continuation of IDE 122. Includes advanced techniques in black and white and color, measured drawings, fundamental<br />

design in visual communications, and rendering for interior design.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of CAD 158 before enrolling in this course.<br />
