ANS 276 Equine Conformation and Performance<br />

3 cr. hrs. 5 periods (2 lec., 3 lab)<br />

Physical and functional structure and movement of the horse. Includes lecture, video and live animal evaluations based on<br />

current industry standards, rules, and regulations of breed associations.<br />

ANS 290 Animal Science Internship<br />

1-4 cr. hrs. 5-20 periods (5-20 lab)<br />

Internship and work experience in an animal science field or laboratory. Includes setting, achieving, and evaluating goals<br />

for hands-on learning experiences in animal sciences. Also includes development of skills and knowledge needed to work<br />

in an animal science field or laboratory.<br />

Information: Six credit hours of Animal Science and consent of instructor are required before enrolling in this course.<br />

ANS 295 Independent Research in Animal Science<br />

1-3 cr. hrs. 1-3 periods (1-3 lec.)<br />

Experience in scientific laboratory research.<br />

evolutionary theory, modern human variation, primates, paleoanthropology and archaeology, and the emergence of the<br />

human species from its origins.<br />

Survey of human societal structure. Includes sub-fields of anthropology, sub-disciplines and topics, historical origins,<br />

influences, key figures, theory and methods. Also includes an introduction to the comparative study of cultures.<br />

ANT 105 Humanity and the Environment<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Technical, sociocultural, and political information on environmental science and technology for non-ENV majors. Includes<br />

ecosystems, population impacts, hydrological systems, air pollution, and environmental toxins. Also includes current topics<br />

such as the green house effect, acid rain, drinking water contamination, toxic waste spills, governmental regulation and<br />

enforcement, and future environmental trends.<br />
