mechanisms of important classes of organic compounds, namely alkanes, cycloalkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and alkyl<br />

halides. Also includes application of the organic chemistry concepts addressed using a wide range of laboratory apparatus<br />

and procedures. Integrates laboratory safety skills and computer software applications related to chemistry.<br />

Prerequisite(s): Completion of CHM 152 with a grade of C or better.<br />

Information: IN class is an integrated presentation of CHM 235 and CHM 235LB.<br />

stereochemistry and reaction to mechanisms of organic compounds, using a wide range of laboratory apparatus and<br />

procedures. Integrates laboratory safety skills and computer software related to chemistry.<br />

emphasis on synthesis and use of chemical and instrumental methods as means of identification and an introduction to<br />

biomolecules and/or polymers.<br />
