DAR 277 Film/Video Production Financing<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Strategies to secure production financing for independent film/video projects. Includes fundable projects; research;<br />

proposal formats; granting, funding, and special program sources; and developing the project narrative. Also includes<br />

budgeting, distribution, promotion, and developing a complete prospectus for funding a media project.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 124.<br />

DAR 285 Documentary Television and Film Production<br />

4 cr. hrs. 6 periods (2 lec., 4 lab)<br />

Fundamentals of nonfiction film/video production. Includes history of documentary production, European vs. American<br />

documentary makers, operating the camera, film and video techniques, television themes, production of a television<br />

documentary, and location problems.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 103.<br />

Information: This course will require additional expenses for supplies in addition to course and lab fees.<br />

DAR 288 Digital Arts Business and Portfolio Capstone<br />

2 cr. hrs. 3 periods (1 lec., 2 lab)<br />

Production of professional quality digital arts portfolio with a focus on extended, in-depth study of the digital art industry<br />

and work environment. Includes professional design relationships, fee structures, documenting time, current digital arts<br />

tools and processes, interviews, and presentation of portfolios.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 111, 112, 122, 221, 226.<br />

DAR 290E2 Digital Video and Film Arts Internship<br />

3 cr. hrs. 15 periods (15 lab)<br />

Work environment in digital video and film arts. Includes interpersonal communication, professional development,<br />

employment strategies, and field experience.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 103, 124, 125, and 175.<br />

Information: Consent of the video and film arts instructor and 12 credit hours of DAR course work is required to be<br />

placed in an internship position.<br />

DAR 290E3 Internship in Digital Arts/Graphics<br />

3 cr. hrs. 15 periods (15 lab)<br />

Work environment in digital arts/graphics field. Includes interpersonal communication, professional development,<br />

employment strategies, and field experience.<br />

Prerequisite(s): DAR 101, 111, and 112.<br />

Information: Consent of the digital arts/graphics instructor or department chair and 12 credit hours of DAR coursework is<br />

required to be placed in an internship position.<br />
