ENV 251 OSHA 40: Hazardous Materials - Health and Safety<br />

2.5 cr. hrs. 3 periods (2 lec., 1 lab)<br />

Protection of personnel in contact with hazardous materials. Includes basic toxicology, personal protection and safety,<br />

hazard identification systems, recognition and identification of hazardous materials, hazard classes and their properties,<br />

site emergencies, spill control and clean up. Meets OSHA requirements for business, industry, and government hazardous<br />

materials handlers.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of ENV 100 before enrolling in this course.<br />

ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY — EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION<br />

EED 110 Prior Learning Assessment<br />

1-6 cr. hrs. 1-6 periods (1-6 lec.)<br />

Explore credit options through the development of an individual’s portfolio. Includes how to collect and present materials<br />

which identify, describe, and validate professional training and experiential learning which can be evaluated for collegelevel<br />

credit equivalency. Students in this course must be willing to spend considerable time in the preparation of the<br />

portfolio which can be submitted to a portfolio evaluator.<br />

Information:<br />

A maximum of nine credits may be earned for the EMT-Basic program; students must register for two credits.<br />

A maximum of 36 credits may be earned for the Fire Science, Corrections, Juvenile Corrections, and Intermediate EMT<br />

programs; students must register for three credits.<br />

A maximum of 50 credits may be earned for the EMT Paremedic and Law Enforcement programs; students must register<br />

for six credits.<br />

A maximum of 9 credits may be earned by students who have earned credits previously in this course; students must<br />

register for one credit.<br />
