PSY 240 Developmental Psychology<br />

Human development from conception through adulthood. Includes physical, cognitive, emotional and social development<br />

and potentials at various ages. Also includes research methods used in developmental psychology.<br />

perceptions and international relations.<br />

Recommendation: Completion of PSY 100A or 100B or PSY 101.<br />

PSY 265 Normal Personality<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Psychological functioning and coping behaviors for normal personality development. Includes personal learning and<br />

growth, stages of personality development, role development, work and leisure, wellness, and managing stress. Also<br />

includes love, sexuality, relationships, loneliness and solitude, death and loss, and meaning and values.<br />

Theoretical principles and selected traditions of meditation self-awareness. Includes principles and techniques of<br />

meditation, meditation traditions, literature of meditation, meditation arts, and psychology and physiology of meditation.<br />

PSY 271 Sport Psychology<br />

3 cr. hrs. 3 periods (3 lec.)<br />

Examination of psychological factors that influence sport performance and coaching behaviors and the psychological<br />

effects that sport and exercise involvement have on the participant. Includes an introduction to sport psychology and sport<br />

history, psychological principles of behavioral development and control, social psychological dimensions of sport and<br />

exercise, personality assessment, the study of special athletic populations, coaching roles and behavior, and exercise<br />

psychology.<br />
