SPA 051 Social and Cultural Spanish: Travel
2 cr. hrs. 2 periods (2 lec.)
Introduction to the Spanish language presented in the context of travel, from planning a trip to returning home. Includes
travel in Spanish speaking countries, words and phrases related to transportation, conversation for hotels, restaurants,
and tourist services, and language of health and hygiene.

SPA 085 Introductory Spanish
4 cr. hrs. 4 periods (4 lec.)
Beginning Spanish for students with no previous formal study of the language. Includes correct pronunciation, basic
grammar and conversation, and common communications such as informal greetings and numbers.
Information: This course is not for transfer, but helps prepare students for success in transferable courses.

complex structures with active communication.
Prerequisite(s): SPA 101.
