Each <strong>of</strong> these monolithic. quadruple 2-input<br />

exclusive-OR gates utilize TTL circuitry to perform<br />

the function Y = AS + AB. When the input states<br />

are complementary. the output goes to a logical 1.<br />

These circuits are fully compatible for use with other<br />

TTL or DTL circuits. Input clamping diodes are<br />

provided to minimize transmission line effects and<br />

thereby simplify system design. Input buffers are<br />

used to lower the fan-in requirement to only one<br />

normalized series 54174 load. A full fan-out to 10<br />

normalized series 54174 loads is available from<br />

each <strong>of</strong> the outputs in the logical a state. A fan-out<br />

<strong>of</strong> 20 is provided in the logical 1 state to facilitate<br />

connection <strong>of</strong> unused inputs to used inputs.<br />

Propagation delay is 12 nanoseconds and power<br />

dissipation is 37.5 milliwatts typically for each<br />

exclusive-O R function.<br />

The <strong>ITT</strong>5486 is characterized for operation over the<br />

full military temperature range <strong>of</strong> -55°C to 125°C<br />

and the <strong>ITT</strong>7486 is characterized for operation from<br />

O°C to 70°C.<br />
