and capable <strong>of</strong> frequency division.<br />

DELAYED PULSE GENERATION<br />

The first 9601 determines the time T1 before the<br />

initiation <strong>of</strong> the output pulse. The second 9601<br />

determines t2, the output pulse width.<br />

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR<br />

The output <strong>of</strong> the retriggerable single shot will<br />

only remain high if the input frequency is above<br />

some fixed value .. The input, may be a flip flop<br />

which normally has a fixed frequency <strong>of</strong> operation.<br />

A system malfunction is indicated when<br />

the flip flop frequency drops and retriggering<br />

operation <strong>of</strong> single shot ceases.<br />

DISCRIMINATOR<br />

The 9601 can be used to produce a voltage output<br />

proportional to input frequency. For a fixed<br />

TC <strong>of</strong> Rx and Cx, the duty dycle <strong>of</strong> the output<br />

will vary with frequency. This is integrated by<br />

R2C2 producing a voltage proportional to<br />

freq uency.<br />
