The <strong>ITT</strong>9322 is a monolithic, high speed, quad<br />

two-input digital multiplexer circuit, constructed<br />

with the <strong>ITT</strong> epitaxial process. It<br />

consists <strong>of</strong> four multiplexing circuits with<br />

common select and enable logic, each circuit<br />

contains two inputs and one output. The circuit<br />

uses TTL for high speed, high fanout operation<br />

and is compatible with all other members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

DTL and TTL family <strong>of</strong> digital integrated<br />

circuits.<br />

A common use <strong>of</strong> the <strong>ITT</strong>9322 would be the<br />

moving <strong>of</strong> data from a group <strong>of</strong> registers to four<br />

common output busses. The particular register<br />

from which the data came would be determined<br />

by the state <strong>of</strong> the select input. A less obvious<br />

use is a function generator. The <strong>ITT</strong>9322 can<br />

generate four functions <strong>of</strong> two variables with<br />

one variable common. This is useful for<br />

implementing gating functions.<br />

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - The <strong>ITT</strong>9322<br />

quad two input multiplexer is a member <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>ITT</strong> family <strong>of</strong> compatible Medium Scale<br />

Integrated (MSI) digital building blocks. It<br />

provides this family with the ability to select<br />

four bits <strong>of</strong> either data or control from two<br />

sources, in one package. The enable input (E) is<br />

active low. When not activated all outputs (Z)<br />

are low regardless <strong>of</strong> all other inputs.<br />

The <strong>ITT</strong>9322 quad two input multiplexer is the<br />

logical implementation <strong>of</strong> a four-pole two-position<br />

switch, with the position <strong>of</strong> the switch<br />

being set by the logic levels supplied to the one<br />

select input. The logic equations for the<br />

outputs are shown bel.ow:<br />
