Located on a private residential estate, 20 minutes from<br />

central London and within easy reach of the airports and all<br />

transport links, Marymount International School offers both<br />

boarding and day places to girls between 11 and 18.<br />

Marymount has taught the International Baccalaureate for<br />

more than 30 years and results have consistently put this<br />

independent girls’ school in the top rankings. Results in 2011<br />

included a perfect score of 45 points, achieved by 0.2 % of<br />

students taking the exam worldwide. Furthermore 20% of the<br />

student body achieved 40 points or more, putting them into<br />

the top 4% worldwide. The graduating class of 2011 achieved<br />

an average of 34.7 points, well above the world’s average.<br />

Since the <strong>IB</strong> is accepted at universities worldwide, students are<br />

able to go on to top universities across the globe.<br />

In concert with the school’s nurturing and caring approach<br />

classes are small and study programmes are planned to meet<br />

the needs of individual students.<br />

Founded in 1955 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary<br />

(RSHM), the school has a strong Catholic tradition, which is<br />

inclusive and welcomes other faiths. Through the RSHM,<br />

Marymount is connected to other sister schools across the<br />

globe.<br />

truly international student body, more than 50% of the<br />

students graduate with a bilingual diploma. This is granted to<br />

pupils who have a very advanced fluency in English as well as a<br />

profound knowledge of another language and are able to be<br />

tested in both languages up to mother tongue level.<br />

Languages taught include Spanish, French, German,<br />

Japanese, Mandarin, Korean and Arabic.<br />

The student body is made up of 240 girls from over 45<br />

different nationalities – the largest group in the school are<br />

students from the UK followed by students from Spain,<br />

Germany, Japan, North America, China and Korea.<br />

Boarding students are offered a full range of extracurricular<br />

activities both in the evenings and at weekends. Boarding staff<br />

organise visits, activities and the attractions of London and<br />

surrounding areas are close by.<br />

Educational tours to a large range of destinations are<br />

offered during some of the school holidays.<br />

In concert with Marymount’s Catholic values the <strong>IB</strong> sets out<br />

‘to develop caring young people who help to create a better<br />

and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding<br />
