Part of the global UWC movement, UWC South East Asia is
one of 13 college’s worldwide that bring together students
from all over the world to foster peace and international
understanding.
UWCSEA’s educational programme integrates five elements
– academics, activities, outdoor education, pastoral care and
service – into a holistic programme that supports each
individual’s personal development. Excellence in academic
achievement and a strong pastoral programme focusing on
each student as an individual are central to the aims of the
college. What is unique is our integration of the other three
elements – service, activities and outdoor education – which
helps to ensure that every individual in our community
embraces challenge and is ultimately prepared to take
responsibility for shaping a better world.
The outdoor education programme encourages each
student to expand their horizons in age-appropriate
expeditions, whilst the unique, three-tiered service
programme, is an integral part of UWCSEA’s educational
ethos and is supported by all students.
day and boarding students from over 70 countries. Students
come to UWCSEA from different educational and cultural
backgrounds. This rich diversity of backgrounds and
experiences is respected and celebrated; sharing of different
perspectives is one of UWCSEA’s core values.
UWCSEA has a small, vibrant boarding community that
includes our UWC scholars – students selected by committees
in their home countries for full scholarships to UWCSEA as a
result of their personal commitment to the UWC movement’s
mission: to make education a force to unite people, nations
and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Boarders are
accepted from grade 7 to grade 12.
UWCSEA Dover is currently one of the largest IB diploma
schools in the world. UWCSEA is expanding to 5400 students
by 2015. This expansion includes our new campus in
Tampines, which is a benchmark for environmental building
design. A recent change to the admissions policy alongside an
expanded scholarship programme has made the UWCSEA
education more accessible to a broader community of
students.
The education at UWCSEA is life defining.
