Our aim is to prepare our pupils with the skills, knowledge
and caring attitude required to make a significant
contribution to the world. Our community works towards this
aim, both from inside and outside the classroom, through our
excellent curriculum and the many extracurricular activities
and events we participate in, organize and host.
We believe that continuity and consistency in education is
essential to student achievement. The implementation of the
three IB programmes puts our pupils at the centre of inquirybased
learning from playgroup to Year 12. In age-appropriate
ways, we work to achieve and applaud the qualities identified

Implemented in every year level, our personal and social
development programme is another way we attain coherence
and consistency in our school. This programme teaches
children, from their early years, to talk about matters
including identity, school culture, sex education, alcohol and
drug abuse.
Craighouse is a Chilean school with British roots and an
international approach and outlook. Pupils from playgroup to
Year 6 are taught through the medium of English, within a
context of total immersion. From Year 7 to Year 12, pupils have
upwards of five hours a week of English language and
literature classes, often with native English language
teachers. All trips within and outside Chile are organized
around cultural themes and sports venues. These occasions
not only enrich the curriculum but also give our pupils
opportunities for fine-tuning their language and
communication skills.
