St. George’s School, the first British international school in
Switzerland, was founded in 1927. With the motto Levavi Oculos
the school offers an open-minded education both in and out
of the classroom. The school provides a ‘Home away from
Home’ to approximately 60 boarders and 400 day students
from 48 different nationalities. Nestled between the Alps and
Lake Geneva, the school includes tennis courts, sports hall
and opened landscaped grounds.
During winter students ski and in the summer they make
use of the lake, surrounding countryside and local sports
facilities.
The school was recently renovated and extended with new
science laboratories designed especially for the IB curriculum.
The language of instruction is English.
The curriculum contains the following subject groups:
Groups 1 & 2: Languages
Students usually select from English and French. Spanish
and German are also possible, subject to availability. Mother
tongue is also available.

Group 4: Experimental Sciences
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
Group 5: Mathematics
At St. George’s we offer maths to higher and standard level
as well as maths studies.
Group 6: Art (or elective subject)
Students can follow courses in either visual arts or music.
Alternatively students may follow a second subject possibly
chosen from groups 2, 3 or 4.
