The International School of Curaçao (ISC) educates students
from diverse cultures to have the skills to think creatively,
communicate effectively, reason critically and act
compassionately.
ISC has pledged to achieve this by providing a high quality
English medium education using US and internationally
recognized standards.
The elementary school begins with kindergarten for threeyear-olds
and extends to grade 5. Each classroom is selfcontained
with students taking core subjects from their
homeroom teacher. Students receive instruction in art, music,
computers, library and PE from K3 and begin taking Dutch
and Spanish classes in second grade. Elementary school
builds a foundation of academic skills and personal
competency that will prepare children to succeed in later
grades. Our elementary program emphasizes fundamental
skills in language arts and mathematics.
Our middle school offers a program tailored to the unique
social and learning needs of students in grades 6, 7 and 8. We

encourage students to solve problems, apply organizational
skills, research important questions and, most importantly, to
celebrate the differences within themselves and those around
them.
Our high school offers a vigorous liberal arts education for
every student and fosters international understanding.
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in Spanish and
Spanish literature. We also offer students the full
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in the
11th and 12th grades or the option of pursuing individual
certificates in the different subject areas.
Other special curriculum features include: English as a
second language (ESL), learning resource (LR), as well as
guidance counseling and college placement.
The International School of Curaçao is a member of the
Association of American Schools in South America (AASSA), a
member of the College Board and the National Association for
College Admission Counseling and is fully accredited by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since 1990.
