IB Africa, Europe and Middle East
three face to face workshops. In addition, 20 school
leaders from the three schools participated in a
leadership workshop and attended a final workshop to
discuss implementation of the learning in the
classroom. The project was entirely funded by the
ArcelorMittal Foundation and is part of the work of the
ArcelorMittal Group to support and empower the
communities of Galati. It is hoped that at least two of
the schools will move on to become authorized IB
World Schools
An IB/ArcelorMittal project also ran in Krakow, Poland,
and 30 teachers and 15 leaders from five secondary
schools and key regional educational bodies participated
in a course tailored for the Polish context with the advice
and involvement of teams from two IB World Schools. It
is anticipated that at least two of the schools will move
on to become authorized IB World Schools.
