ACS Cobham International School enrols students from nearly
60 countries (American and British students represent well over
half the population), speaking more than 30 languages, all
seeking an education that prepares them for a global future. Our
goal is to encourage critical thinkers, responsible global citizens
and students who are prepared to achieve the highest standards,
both in their subsequent education and throughout their
careers. Although there is no formal entrance exam, ACS
Cobham is a university-preparatory school, sending students to
many of the finest universities in the world.
Academic programme
• ACS Cobham is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World
School, offering the IB Diploma Programme.
• ACS Cobham offers a traditional American High School
Diploma, including prestigious Advanced Placement (AP)
courses.
• ACS Cobham graduates attend leading universities
around the world including: Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial
College London and London School of Economics in the
UK; Stanford, Harvard, Princeton and Yale in the USA; and
leading universities in other countries such as Canada,
Japan, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Faculty
The faculty includes 129 full-time teachers, all holding
university degrees; approximately one-half have advanced
degrees. The student to teacher ratio is approximately 9:1.
Boarding
The school offers coeducational boarding with separate-wing
accommodation for 110 students aged between 12 (7th grade)
and 18 (12th grade). All student rooms are ergonomically
designed for two with en suite facilities and internet connections.
The campus
• ACS Cobham is located 23 miles south of central London
on a beautiful 128-acre site, giving students plenty of
space and acting as a powerful learning resource.
• Superb purpose-built teaching facilities now include a stateof-the-art
interactive learning centre, complete with video
conferencing. Campus sports facilities include: soccer and
rugby fields, softball and baseball diamonds, an all-weather
Olympic-sized track, tennis courts, golf course, and a sports
centre, with a basketball/volleyball show court, competitionclass
swimming pool, dance studio and fitness suite.
Student activities
• ACS Cobham offers extensive and varied extracurricular
clubs, sports and community service activities both locally
and internationally, encouraging students to participate
in the richness of school life.
• Students also participate in international theatre art
programmes, competitive sports tournaments, maths,
literature and music competitions in the UK and across
Europe.
Admissions
Admissions officers are available throughout the year to
discuss enrolment. Applicants do not need to sit a formal
entrance exam. Students are accepted in all grades
throughout the year. Application forms, previous school
records and teacher references are required for entry.
