ACS Cobham International School enrols students from nearly<br />

60 countries (American and British students represent well over<br />

half the population), speaking more than 30 languages, all<br />

seeking an education that prepares them for a global future. Our<br />

goal is to encourage critical thinkers, responsible global citizens<br />

and students who are prepared to achieve the highest standards,<br />

both in their subsequent education and throughout their<br />

careers. Although there is no formal entrance exam, ACS<br />

Cobham is a university-preparatory school, sending students to<br />

many of the finest universities in the world.<br />

Academic programme<br />

• ACS Cobham is an International Baccalaureate (<strong>IB</strong>) <strong>World</strong><br />

School, offering the <strong>IB</strong> Diploma Programme.<br />

• ACS Cobham offers a traditional American High School<br />

Diploma, including prestigious Advanced Placement (AP)<br />

courses.<br />

• ACS Cobham graduates attend leading universities<br />

around the world including: <strong>Cambridge</strong>, Oxford, Imperial<br />

College London and London School of Economics in the<br />

UK; <strong>Stanford</strong>, <strong>Harvard</strong>, Princeton and <strong>Yale</strong> in the USA; and<br />

leading universities in other countries such as Canada,<br />

Japan, the Netherlands and Sweden.<br />

Faculty<br />

The faculty includes 129 full-time teachers, all holding<br />

university degrees; approximately one-half have advanced<br />

degrees. The student to teacher ratio is approximately 9:1.<br />

Boarding<br />

The school offers coeducational boarding with separate-wing<br />

accommodation for 110 students aged between 12 (7th grade)<br />

and 18 (12th grade). All student rooms are ergonomically<br />

designed for two with en suite facilities and internet connections.<br />

The campus<br />

• ACS Cobham is located 23 miles south of central London<br />

on a beautiful 128-acre site, giving students plenty of<br />

space and acting as a powerful learning resource.<br />

• Superb purpose-built teaching facilities now include a stateof-the-art<br />

interactive learning centre, complete with video<br />

conferencing. Campus sports facilities include: soccer and<br />

rugby fields, softball and baseball diamonds, an all-weather<br />

Olympic-sized track, tennis courts, golf course, and a sports<br />

centre, with a basketball/volleyball show court, competitionclass<br />

swimming pool, dance studio and fitness suite.<br />

Student activities<br />

• ACS Cobham offers extensive and varied extracurricular<br />

clubs, sports and community service activities both locally<br />

and internationally, encouraging students to participate<br />

in the richness of school life.<br />

• Students also participate in international theatre art<br />

programmes, competitive sports tournaments, maths,<br />

literature and music competitions in the UK and across<br />

Europe.<br />

Admissions<br />

Admissions officers are available throughout the year to<br />

discuss enrolment. Applicants do not need to sit a formal<br />

entrance exam. Students are accepted in all grades<br />

throughout the year. Application forms, previous school<br />

records and teacher references are required for entry.<br />
