Elmwood School is the pre-eminent all-girls’ school in
Canada’s capital. An independent day school for outstanding
girls from junior kindergarten to grade 12, we have been a
fixture in Ottawa since 1915.

Elmwood’s faculty draws on best practices unique to all-girls’

and be assertive. Elmwood also embraces digital learning and

The first all-girls’ school to be authorised to offer all three
International Baccalaureate programmes in North America,
Elmwood embraces the challenge of global citizenship and

Elmwood has long been recognized as a globally diverse and

represent more than 40 different nationalities and ethnicities.
We welcome international students through our Homestay
program – students live with a local family and experience life
in Canada’s capital city.
All of our graduates go on to university. They study at
prestigious schools around the world; 50% of them study
science, math or engineering and a significant number
continue their studies at the graduate level. Our graduates
