Johnson Grammar School started in 1979 with nine students
and is today rated as one of the best ICSE schools in India and
has a cohort of more than 5000 students. With its aim to plan
collaboratively and diversify learning resources beyond
textbooks, JGS is keenly driven by its mission statement of
attaining a leading position in providing the finest quality
education services for the all round development of students
so that character is formed, strength of mind is increased and
the intellect is expanded.
The school’s vision of moving in pace with a fast changing
world, led to the introduction of the IBDP in 2008. With its
successful authorization to deliver the IBDP under the
leadership of its visionary leader Dr Chandrasekhar, JGS has
now had four triumphant years with the IB. The first two
batches of students have successfully completed the
programme, graduating with above average global scores.
New students will be assessed for their proficiency in the
English language and in the subjects of their prime choice,
which range from science and math to business management
and economics to languages like Hindi and French and visual
art with English under group 1. Teachers and the admissions
officer will be on hand to help each student choose the best
combination of subjects.
Students are involved in CAS, which enables group
contribution to the wellbeing of society in and around
Habsiguda, the school’s prime location. CAS also offers the
opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including sports,
theatre, debate, music and art, thus encouraging the student
to participate in national and international competitions.
Keeping in line with the suburban setting, the school offers
air conditioned classrooms, custom made laboratories and a
well stocked library for further study and research. High levels
of professionalism among the teaching staff, linked to a
change in the teaching strategies involving contemporary
technology, enables students to get only the best.
