Located in Bangkok’s foremost business, diplomatic,
residential and shopping area, NIST provides a truly
international education to a diverse group of students ranging
from 3 to 18 years of age. The campus occupies ten acres of
urban, green land, which includes a sports complex with
tennis courts and 25 meter pool, an Early Years Centre,
Creative Arts Building, playing fields, as well as separate
elementary and secondary buildings, and classrooms
equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
As a leading IB World School, NIST’s mission is to inspire
and empower each student to pursue individual excellence
and to enrich the world.
Since its inception in 1992, with guidance and support from
the United Nations, NIST has gained a reputation as one of the
leading International Baccalaureate schools worldwide. The
school is a non-profit, international day school, governed by the
Foundation for International Education and accredited by CIS,
NEASC, IB and ONESQA. NIST is one of only a few IB World
Schools in Bangkok that offers a well-established curriculum of
all three International Baccalaureate Programmes. Our
students consistently earn high scores in the IB Diploma and
move on to colleges and universities worldwide.
The teaching faculty comprises professional expertise from
more than 20 countries, with over 50 nationalities represented
within the student body. In addition to the excellent academic
curriculum and extensive world language programme, NIST
offers a broad range of musical, sporting, artistic, and other
activities through its afterschool competitive sports and
extracurricular programmes.
NIST has an extensive World Language Programme. Learned
languages offered include French, Mandarin, Spanish, and
Thai, as well as many more mother tongue languages under
offer. NIST also provides an extensive extracurricular
programme with over 900 students taking part in recreational
and competitive sports and other activities.
Amidst all this, NIST has committed itself to IT excellence
and innovation. NIST is proud to offer students the use of
tablet laptops, a completely wireless campus, SMART
Boards, Frontrow classroom amplification system, and LCD
equipped classrooms, to name but a few IT developments.
Through NIST’s rigorous academic curriculum, challenging
sports, enriched arts, and access to cutting-edge
technology, our students are well-prepared as world
citizens.
