Worth School is an independent, Catholic Benedictine school
for boys and girls with nearly a decade’s experience of
delivering excellent IB programmes. Our magnificent school
is in the heart of the Sussex countryside, about halfway
between the world-famous cities of London and Brighton, and
only ten minutes from Gatwick airport. We are ideally placed
to allow our students to sample the best that Britain has to
offer, while providing a safe and beautiful environment in
which to learn.
The sixth form at Worth is a vibrant community, with British
and international students working productively together. We
offer an exciting range of subjects to meet the academic
requirements of all our IB students, whatever the nature of
their career plans. The combination of subjects is crucial if
young people are to realise their full potential; we offer
individual guidance to all prospective IB students.
Examination results reflect staff experience and commitment:
last year the average IB score was 35.3 points against a
worldwide average of 29.6.
As well as our high academic standards, Worth School’s
foundation stone is its outstanding pastoral care and
Benedictine ethos. We encourage our pupils to develop their
own individuality while living within a community that
inspires learning, worship, friendship and service. Being
located alongside Worth Abbey and its monastic community is
an inspiration to all of us.
Facilities at the school include our own 250-seater
Performing Arts Centre, Pitstop café, sports hall, playing fields
and golf course, plus excellent library and IT facilities. Drama,
dance and music are pursued avidly, and there is a huge
choice of sporting activities from tennis, netball, football,
cricket and rugby to horse riding, basketball, fencing and tai
chi.
We feel that there is an affinity between the aims of the IB
diploma and the Benedictine ethos of Worth, in that both seek
to nurture caring and principled young people, prepared –
