Coromandel Valley Primary School is a public school that was
first opened in 1877, we can therefore boast a rich history in
the district.
The school is ideally situated in the picturesque Adelaide
Hills surrounded by beautiful native flora and fauna, and we
share responsibility for a wetlands reserve allowing ample
opportunities for environmental education.
Our vision is to develop global learners in a caring
community. As a school community we have a strong
emphasis on environmental education, inquiry learning,
learning technologies and student wellbeing.
Coromandel Valley Primary is:
• An authorised MYP school working in collaboration with
Blackwood High School for the past nine years.
• An authorised PYP school with many excellent
opportunities for developing students through our
programme of inquiry and the learner profile.
• Well known for involvement in environmental initiatives
such as recycling, composting, solar energy, garden
development and Waterwatch.

Our Academic Programme
Coromandel Valley Primary has a strong emphasis on
developing literacy through the Jolly Phonics programme,
numeracy skills and a rich science/technology programme.
Many students enter national competitions and our
academic results are amongst the highest in Australia.
Students learn German as a second language.
